Petition for Asia Bibi - 200 Views Needed!

I am entering this video in the Call For Mercy video contest, but before I can do so, I need 200 views on it! So please view it yourself, and let your friends know about it! I would ask that each person only view it once, so that we can have each view count towards one individual (I'm pretty sure that's how YouTube works)! Thank you!

Now go to www.callformercy.com and SIGN THE PETITION!

Pray for Courageous!

This is copied from the Courageous blog - PLEASE visit the blog every day to keep up on the prayer updates!!

40 Days of Courageous Prayers
Posted on August 22, 2011 by Courageous Blog

Forty days from now, September 30, COURAGEOUS opens in 1,100 theaters across the U.S. … and in Canadian theaters as well!

As with all elements and ministries of Sherwood Baptist Church in Albany, Georgia, Courageous is rooted in prayer. With that in mind, we asked Sherwood’s Senior Associate Pastor Stephen Kendrick to create a 40-day prayer guide leading up to the opening of the movie. In addition to the impact this film will have on families, there are also countless elements that go into a movie’s opening for which we would appreciate you joining us in prayer.

In addition to his work as producer and co-writer for Courageous, Fireproof, Facing the Giants, and Flywheel, Stephen also oversees Sherwood’s prayer ministry. So, starting today, August 22, and going each day until September 30, we will have daily prayer updates on this blog. Thanks for joining us on this adventure!

Today’s Key Verse: If it is disagreeable in your sight to serve the LORD, choose for yourselves today whom you will serve: whether the gods which your fathers served which were beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you are living; but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD. (Joshua 24:15)

Pray For Families: Pray for God to help people around the world gain a heart of compassion for children and recognize their clear need for strong fathers to lovingly lead their families.

Pray For Courageous: Pray for God to continue opening theatrical doors and help Courageous to be shown in the right places to the right people at the right times.

2011 Music Festival!

This past weekend we attended one of the highlights of the year for our family - the Lake Itasca Family Music Festival! This is their 6th annual year, and our our 6th consecutive year of attending! I don't have a lot of time for a long post (I'm keeping busy editing EXCELSIOR for the Aug. 15th early bird deadline) but I wanted to put up a few pictures! I hope to post a few videos in the future (which I failed to do last year - I apologize)!!

They were SO GOOD, and you could tell they desired to honor the Lord through their music! I've already been listening to the CD they signed for me - they are such a sweet family! :-)

There was lots of great bands on the side stages as well, including our good friends the Fraser Family (below is pictured the three girls - Abigail, Sara, and Deborah)!

The Hartley Family
Anna Hartley (the oldest girl) and I have been corresponding over the years since we met at this festival 5 years ago, and I am so glad to have her as a friend! Their family is very down-to-earth, and we enjoyed visiting with them, hearing their great music, and listening to Mr. Hartley's Sunday morning message!

The Wissmann Family did the kid's program again this year, and I enjoyed it immensely!! ;-) They taught everyone Bible verses and songs, and did a skit on the life of Mary Slessor. It was all very well done!

The best part of the whole weekend for me, I think, was just visiting with friends! There were SO MANY people I knew there, I really wish I would have gotten pictures of all of them! I'm already looking forward to next year! :-)
