More Convention Photos

Here are the unedited 2012 Homeschool Convention photos, taken by Maria and Clara U. Thanks girls - you did a great job!

This year at the convention I enjoyed helping out workshop speaker Marcia Washburn (Building Tomorrow's Generation). It was great getting to know her, and a new experience for me to be assisting in running a booth!

A few other convention highlights for me were: seeing so many WONDERFUL friends, hearing some GREAT music during the Talent Night on Friday, and eating the YUMMY food and snacks prepared by the G. family!!! :-)

Enjoy the pictures!

NOTE: Caleb's ear, although not completely back to normal, seems to be doing much better, praise the Lord! He was able to scuba dive again and is really enjoying his time in TX. We can't wait for him to come home at the end of May!

Prayer Request

We heard from Caleb this week on the phone, and it sounds like he has a very bad ear infection in his right ear. I think when the guys go diving it can affect their ears. Caleb said it hurts worse than the chain saw accident he had several years ago!!! Yikes! He went to the doctor and got some medicine and is doing better. He slept all day yesterday and just watched his fellow ERT men scuba dive today, but it seems like he's on the mend. Please pray that he gets better quickly and that his eardrum isn't burst, and that there's no long term damage. Thank you!

Appleseed Event

May 12--Project Appleseed Rifle Marksmanship Event

The Shorma family will be hosting one of Project Appleseed’s rifle marksmanship and American heritage events at Sandhills Stables in Kindred, ND, on Saturday, May 12. A great family field trip for homeschoolers of all ages, this event will present unique insights into the providential working of God in the events surrounding April 19, 1775, alongside personal stories of those who were there at Lexington and Concord. Throughout the day, quality rifle marksmanship instruction will give you the tools you need to confidently achieve hits out to the rifleman’s quarter mile. Using scaled down 1940’s era Army Qualification Targets allows the entire course to be fired at 25 yards while using .22 rifles to conserve on the cost of ammo. $2.50/person under 21 years of age. More information and online registration can be found at http://appleseedinfo.org/smf/index.php?topic=28792.0. Contact Jonathan Bartlett at 701-263-4575 or nd@appleseedinfo.org if you have any questions or need to borrow firearms. Visit www.appleseedusa.org to learn more about Project Appleseed.
