Trip to Canada!

This past weekend we traveled north of Winnipeg to visit some friends of ours. We enjoyed going to a Provincial Park and hiking, rappelling, playing volleyball and frisbee, and more! It was a great weekend.  Here are some pictures from our time at the park . . .

Karlen, Ethan, and Lydia watching Caleb rappel.

Clifford rappelling

And Caleb decided to rappel upside down!! Yes, my brother is crazy! LOL :-)

Caleb's shadow . . . looks like there's no rope, eh? ;-)

Delmar rappelling

Darlene throwing the frisbee! She has a beautiful smile! :-)

Climbing along the shoreline

Shooting pictures (and no, that is not my lens that I am using - I wish! lol)

Back row: Daniel, Clifford, Delmar, Caleb, Lydia, me
Front row: Ethan, Karlen, Darlene

Crazy time!

Sadly, I didn't get any pictures of us meeting with some other friends at the park in Winnipeg on the way home because we were so busy visiting! Maybe next time. :-) I did get one of this deer as we were pulling out . . .

As much as I REALLY enjoyed stepping foot in Canada for the first time, it's nice to be back in the good old USA where we use Fahrenheit and miles per hour on the highway! ;-)

Trip Out West

We just returned home from an amazing trip out to Washington state for my cousin's wedding! She was a GORGEOUS bride, and the wedding was so God-glorifying! We had fun helping out with the decoration of the reception hall. The theme was so incredibly cute!

Here's my family at the wedding (Caleb had to stay at his place in Fargo and work, so he couldn't come).

That weekend we also got to visit with our aunt, uncle and cousins - we had a BLAST! I only wish they all lived closer and we could get together more. :-)

The cute couple :)

All of us cousins!

We enjoyed going to the ocean one day and seeing this old sunken ship.

This is the 3rd time I've visited Multnomah Falls in Oregon - so beautiful (and this picture is only the bottom half of the falls)!

On our way home through Montana we stayed at Glacier National Park for a couple days. It is one of the prettiest places I have ever seen! I just LOVE seeing God's marvelous creation.

First time on a paddle board - and the most beautiful lake I've EVER been on!

Yes, the mountain goats were THAT close!

We took a long, hot hike through the beautiful mountains . . .

. . . . crossing streams and seeing pink and yellow wildflowers . . .

. . . to see Hidden Lake! It is so worth it - and a lot like being a Christian, wouldn't you say? It's not always easy following in Jesus' steps, but it's always worth it!

Evolution vs. God

This documentary by Ray Comfort is well worth the 40 minutes it takes to watch it!

Why We Pray

Recently I've been working on a short film to enter in a contest, and now it is finally finished! I need to have 200 views by Monday evening so please SHARE, SHARE, SHARE! Share on Facebook, Twitter, Blogger, e-mail, or wherever else!  And don't stop at 200 views - we need to encourage as many people as possible to pray for our brothers and sisters in Christ who are being persecuted for their faith.

Visit www.persecution.com/pray to see specific weekly prayer requests.

Here are the credits . . . a big thank you to all the wonderful people who helped make this project a reality! I could NOT have done it without you!

GLORY TO GOD ALONE! Thank you Jesus for giving me the opportunity to make this film!

Update from Standing Sun Productions!

Did you see the new trailer for In His Steps yet?  It premiered on our Facebook page on July 27th (another reason to like the page so you don't miss anything!), and has been seen over 500 times as of this writing!  If you haven't seen it yet, you can watch it right here. In other news, we need your help! We've started a campaign on FaithLauncher to raise the funds we need to complete post production on the film.  I've done just about all I can on my own on editing, and now it's time to bring in some fresh talent... like our composer!  David W. Hamilton, who scored In His Steps: The Series, will be returning to write the music for the movie, provided we can get our funding.  The campaign launched on Monday, and we're already at 9% of our goal!  Please visit our FaithLauncher page and donate today!  All donations will be run through Families for Christ Ministries, a 501c3 non-profit, and are tax deductible. And of course, even if you can't donate, please share the campaign with everyone you know and encourage your friends to support the project.  We don't necessarily need large donations, just a lot of small ones! Thank you, Zack Lawrence Standing Sun Productions P.S. Oh, another reason to like our Facebook page: when we get 300 likes, we'll release a new interview with actress Laura Seabrook (Rachel Winslow), 400 likes we'll release an interview with actress Stacey Bradshaw (Loreen), and 500 likes we'll release a never-before seen scene from the movie!

The film camp students helped film this interview - enjoy!

In His Steps Update from the Director

Post production on In His Steps continues at a great pace!  The rough cut is complete, and now the fine tuning process begins.  Once we have "picture lock" with the shots and visual effects completed, we'll move on to the audio edit, followed by sending the film off to our composer for the music.  Things are moving along right on schedule! Before we talk about the Character Spotlight, I would like to mention that we still have one final financial hurdle to cross in order to complete post production.  We need to raise $5,400 to cover the costs of editing, paying the composer, and making sure we can get the film seen by as many people as possible.  We've raised 14% of our goal so far, but that means we have over $4,600 left to raise.  Please consider donating today using the Donate button located on InHisStepsMovie.com.  Donations are being handled by our partner ministry, Families for Christ Ministries, a 501(c)3 non-profit, so all donations are tax-deductible. Over the next several weeks, we're featuring one of the characters from In His Steps across our social media platforms! We'll post never-before-seen behind the scenes photos from the filming of In His Steps only on our Tumblr blog Post interviews with the actor on our YouTube channel Feature the character as the avatar of our Facebook page ...and more! Last week, our spotlight was on Rachel Winslow, played by Laura Seabrook.  View the behind the scenes photos by clicking here. You can read about the character, the actress, and watch an interview with Laura Seabrook by clicking here. And finally, help us decide who to feature this week by voting in our Facebook poll! Thank you, Zack Lawrence Director/Producer, In His Steps P.S. Don't forget to make your donation to our post production fund by clicking here!
