Second Place!

For those of you who don't know, I've officially won second place in the One With Them contest! Praise the Lord! It was so neat to see His hand working. I'll be traveling to Washington D.C. for the prize, and I'll be attending a couple Open Doors events there.

Since I wasn't able to give credits on the actual video, I want to give them here! THANK YOU to everyone who helped me out! I couldn't have done it without your support and encouragement! A special thanks to my family for always sticking by me through the days of producing this short film!

What Would You Do for a Bible?

IDOP

"SANTA ANA, Calif. (Nov. 5, 2012) – In Nigeria, at least one church has been attacked nearly every month this year. Hundreds of Christians have been killed or wounded by Muslim terrorists in 2012. These believers endure persecution almost every day, unsure of when the next attack will occur.

More than 100 million Christians are persecuted globally, and it's getting worse every year. A recent report by the Pew Forum on Religion and Public Life found more than 75 percent of the world’s population lives in countries where social hostilities or government restrictions rose substantially from 2006 to 2009.

The most powerful way Christians in the West can show their support for the millions of persecuted Christians around the world is through prayer. Millions will be gathering in churches, small groups and homes this Sunday for the International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church (IDOP). IDOP began in 1996 and today is one of the largest prayer events in the world.

“When you hear our stories and pray with us, that is how you can be One With Us,” says Esther, a Christian widow from Nigeria. “The Bible tells us in Christ we are one body and when you pray with us, you bring the Body of Christ together.”

The top 10 persecutors of Christians on the Open Doors 2012 World Watch List include North Korea, Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan, Somalia, Iran, Maldives, Uzbekistan, Yemen, Iraq and Pakistan.  Nigeria is No. 13.

Open Doors USA’s One With Them campaign is a call to action to unite with persecuted believers. The website for One With Them offers numerous materials for IDOP such as a pastor’s guide, IDOP videos and bulletin inserts. To download IDOP materials, go to www.OneWithThem.com."

Mom's Balloon Ride

My mom recently went on a long-awaited balloon ride with my adopted grandma to celebrate her 80th birthday! Here is a slideshow of some pictures I took . . . it was quite a neat experience!

(Note: I used the song Up, Up and Away for fun - it's an old secular song about hot air balloons) :-)

Holy, Holy, Holy Video

Holy, Holy, Holy - Winter Scene from Bartlett Productions on Vimeo.

I was trying to remember if I ever posted this on my blog, and I don't think I did . . . but better late then never, right! It's a video made by Andrew (Bartlett Productions) several months ago, and he used a song from my sacred harp CD for the background. Good job, Andrew!

Speaking of harp CD, don't forget that I have an instrumental Christmas harp CD available for sale HERE!! You can buy it online, or feel free to leave me a comment if you would like to send a check.

Also, if you haven't already, please VOTE on the video I entered in the Open Doors contest! The deadline is this Tuesday at midnight! Thank you! :-)

Voting

Bartlett Productions made this video regarding Measure 3 in North Dakota - if you live there, view this well-done video and pass it on!

Also, while I'm at it, if you live in MN, PLEASE VOTE YES on the MN Marriage Amendment. If you don't vote yes, it counts as a NO! Check out this website for more information: http://www.minnesotaformarriage.com/
