Why We Pray

Recently I've been working on a short film to enter in a contest, and now it is finally finished! I need to have 200 views by Monday evening so please SHARE, SHARE, SHARE! Share on Facebook, Twitter, Blogger, e-mail, or wherever else!
And don't stop at 200 views - we need to encourage as many people as possible to pray for our brothers and sisters in Christ who are being persecuted for their faith.

Visit www.persecution.com/pray to see specific weekly prayer requests.

Here are the credits . . . a big thank you to all the wonderful people who helped make this project a reality! I could NOT have done it without you!

GLORY TO GOD ALONE! Thank you Jesus for giving me the opportunity to make this film!

Update from Standing Sun Productions!

Watch the trailer!Did you see the new trailer for In His Steps yet?  It premiered on our Facebook page on July 27th (another reason to like the page so you don't miss anything!), and has been seen over 500 times as of this writing!  If you haven't seen it yet, you can watch it right here.

Support us on FaithLauncher today! In other news, we need your help! We've started a campaign on FaithLauncher to raise the funds we need to complete post production on the film.  I've done just about all I can on my own on editing, and now it's time to bring in some fresh talent... like our composer!  David W. Hamilton, who scored In His Steps: The Series, will be returning to write the music for the movie, provided we can get our funding.  The campaign launched on Monday, and we're already at 9% of our goal!  Please visit our FaithLauncher page and donate today!  All donations will be run through Families for Christ Ministries, a 501c3 non-profit, and are tax deductible.

And of course, even if you can't donate, please share the campaign with everyone you know and encourage your friends to support the project.  We don't necessarily need large donations, just a lot of small ones!

Thank you,
Zack Lawrence
Standing Sun Productions

P.S. Oh, another reason to like our Facebook page: when we get 300 likes, we'll release a new interview with actress Laura Seabrook (Rachel Winslow), 400 likes we'll release an interview with actress Stacey Bradshaw (Loreen), and 500 likes we'll release a never-before seen scene from the movie!

In His Steps Update from the Director

The rough cut of In His Steps!Post production on In His Steps continues at a great pace!  The rough cut is complete, and now the fine tuning process begins.  Once we have "picture lock" with the shots and visual effects completed, we'll move on to the audio edit, followed by sending the film off to our composer for the music.  Things are moving along right on schedule!

Before we talk about the Character Spotlight, I would like to mention that we still have one final financial hurdle to cross in order to complete post production.  We need to raise $5,400 to cover the costs of editing, paying the composer, and making sure we can get the film seen by as many people as possible.  We've raised 14% of our goal so far, but that means we have over $4,600 left to raise.  Please consider donating today using the Donate button located on InHisStepsMovie.com.  Donations are being handled by our partner ministry, Families for Christ Ministries, a 501(c)3 non-profit, so all donations are tax-deductible.

Over the next several weeks, we're featuring one of the characters from In His Steps across our social media platforms!
  • We'll post never-before-seen behind the scenes photos from the filming of In His Steps only on our Tumblr blog
  • Post interviews with the actor on our YouTube channel
  • Feature the character as the avatar of our Facebook page
  • ...and more!
Laura Seabrook as Rachel WinslowLast week, our spotlight was on Rachel Winslow, played by Laura Seabrook.  View the behind the scenes photos by clicking here.
You can read about the character, the actress, and watch an interview with Laura Seabrook by clicking here.

And finally, help us decide who to feature this week by voting in our Facebook poll!

Thank you,
Zack Lawrence

Film Camp Pictures

Hey everyone! Here is a very quick photo update from the film camp I just arrived home from! I had an AMAZING TIME, learned a lot, and made lots of new friends!
I hope to write a more detailed report later.

First of all, Colorado is beautiful. We really enjoyed talking walks and hiking down the canyon. On one of our off days we even shot a short film down at the creek in the bottom of the canyon! It was a really neat experience! :-)

Isn't the view gorgeous?!

I took a self-portrait on the way back from one of our more leisurely walks.
Rebekah did my hair so that was fun!

Me and Mary, the amazing 1st AD

We were always extremely serious on set. No laughing was allowed. Film sets are very quiet and boring.

Ok, ok - just kidding! We all laughed probably more than we'd ever laughed in our lives! Of course we all worked hard and had serious times but there was also lots of vibrant discussions and debates, joking, games and fun!

Madison let me wear her hat :-)

Here I am as a homeless extra - I really enjoyed it!

I can't get over how beautiful it is in Colorado! Visit there if you can!

The hardest thing by far was parting ways with all my amazing new friends. We all left at different times but several of us were on the same flight and got to hang out at the airport. Here I am with Madison, Mr. Rich Swingle, and Mary. I miss EVERYONE so much!!
Thanks to all of you for a wonderful experience!

I'll post more later! This week I have a one week summer job thinning beets, so I'll be pretty busy, but hopefully I'll have time to write more about my experiences later. Have a wonderful June!

Same Baby?

I found these two pictures too cute not to post! So what do you think . . . are they the same baby, or not? And who do you think they are?

Long Overdue Update

It's been quite a long time since I've posted on here - yikes. :-) I'm happy to report that Lydia is home and doing very well - we are praising God for that! She is on the road to recovery, doing therapy and exercises, and also doing lot of things on her own now. I am so thankful that the tumor is GONE and Lydia is getting better! Please continue to pray that the tumor will not ever return (we don't think it will, but there's always that slight chance) and that Lydia's recovery will continue to go well! Here is her latest Caring Bridge update:   http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/lydiakenney/journal (you do need an account to sign in).

A lot has gone on this year, including 3 birthdays which I never posted about! My camera isn't working the best, so I just have one of Ethan's birthday (Feb. 9th). Mom's was Feb. 23rd and Lydia's was March 20th.

After I came home from Mayo Clinic (where Lydia had her surgery) I attended a girls' retreat up in the Bottineau, ND area. While I was up there, I stopped over at the Bartlett Farms, where our good friends have been living for the past 9 years now. It was hard to believe I hadn't been up there since we made the short film Excelsior together a couple years ago! Time sure does fly. :-)

We had a lot of fun walking around the farm discussing filmmaking and new projects. It's neat to see all the new things they've added since I was last there. I always come away encouraged from a visit with the Bartlett Family!

By the way, if you haven't looked at the new Bartlett Productions website, be sure to check it out!

(Mrs. Bartlett was taking the picture and Mr. Bartlett was doing a delivery)

At the girls' retreat, we had a wonderful time of music . . .

competitive Dutch Blitz . . .

fellowship and devotions . . .

and of course a formal night!

And just last Friday, I had my annual spring recital! This year, my friend Maria joined me with two of her violin students. They played a beautiful trio together!

After that, my piano students and harp student performed.

Of course, I had to play something too (I never like performing in front of people, but I'm always glad I did afterwards!), so I did a solo on the harp . . .

and a piano/violin duet with Maria.
Thanks Maria - it was so much fun practicing and performing with you!

My harp student and I (yes, it is a requirement to have red hair to play the harp) LOL :-)

Only half of my students are pictured here - several couldn't be in the picture because they either weren't able to make it or had to leave early. I'm so proud of every one of my students! Great job everyone!

On a final note, I probably won't be posting again for several weeks. I'm excited to let y'all know that I'm leaving this Sunday for CO to attend the Rocky Mountain Christian Filmmakers Camp! I'm super excited to be learning and helping on the set of In His Steps. I'm sure I'll have many adventures, so hopefully I'll be able to post or tweet about them soon! Speaking of Twitter, I'd love to have you follow me (my twitter account is "Hannah Marie" or @gloryandgrace).

Have a wonderful spring and enjoy the nice weather!
